Photo Opportunity

  • Brooklyn Park Library 8500 West Broadway Avenue Brooklyn Park, MN, 55445 United States (map)

Survivors of sexual violence are invited to break the silence in the photography project: "Survivors of the Twin Cities: You are not alone.

Break the Silence founder Sarah Super, event organizer Ngozi Onyeagoro, and photographer Alex Roob will be at Brooklyn Park Library's Mississippi River room offering this invitation to participate in the photo project that's inspiring survivors and educating allies. Survivors who have participated in the project will also be on hand to answer any questions and to stand with you in solidarity.

Feel free to drop in any time between 1:00pm-2:00pm to have your photo taken.

If you wish to participate, you are welcome to write a narrative of 250 words or less to be posted with your photo. You may email Ngozi your narrative before or after you have your photo taken; whichever you prefer. If you would rather have simply your name and that you are a survivor posted, that is okay too. We support you either way. Narratives can be sent to: nonyeagoro@breakthesilence.org

You are strong. You are courageous. You are inspiring. We stand with you however you choose to heal.
